I+D
Over the years, ALECOSA has developed different R&D projects
to optimize its production processes, manufacture new products
and continually improve the quality of its wires.
Starting in 1996, different projects began to optimize the two most
notable processes of the production cycle:
continuous casting and continuous recrystallization.
The result of these projects is the production plant inaugurated in 2005
and which allows ALECOSA to be at the forefront in the production of wires
in binary copper and zinc alloys.
CONTINUOUS CAST
ALECOSA has been a pioneer in implementing the continuous casting system for brass as early as 1967,
when the market trend at that time was to produce this material with the extrusion system.
ALECOSA committed itself to the development of continuous casting in order to obtain a wire
of a much better and more homogeneous quality. And this especially for alloys with a copper content
of less than 64%, in order to be able to offer their customers high-quality wire at a more competitive price.
INVERSE LOGISTICS
ALECOSA has decisively faced the challenge of producing in an eco-efficient way,
aware of the importance of environmental conservation and has adapted its production process
by eliminating any emission into the atmosphere, minimizing water and energy consumption
and reducing waste to zero of production. To complete its commitment to sustainable production,
ALECOSA is committed to recovering the waste and by-products produced by its customers,
integrating them back into the wire production process and thus closing the production cycle.
WRAPPING AND COATED WIRE
Thanks to the application of the most modern technologies in the field of wire drawing,
ALECOSA is able to satisfy the highest demands on the surface quality of the wire,
allowing to guarantee roughness parameters Rmax <5 microns and Rz <2.5 microns.
His exclusive dedication to brass wire allows him to produce a product tailored to each client,
respecting their technical specifications and particular requirements.
The new section of coated wires can satisfy any new industrial request by complying with the strictest
quality controls and incorporating the most advanced production systems.
GRAIN SIZE AND RECRISTALIZATION
Aware of the importance of the suitability of the grain size for obtaining a product
with a high productive yield, ALECOSA has focused a large part of its efforts on the study
of the parameters and variables involved in recrystallization.
The homogeneity of the grain size of its wires allows them to be used in applications
where they are subjected to extreme deformations.
PRODUCT APPLICATIONS
Due to their good corrosion resistance, their good mechanical properties and their good cold behavior, ALECOSA wires are used for a wide variety of final products: from any application for cold stamping to applications in the electronic industry. Its technical department is always at the disposal of its clients and actively collaborates with them, assisting them in improving their products and processes, always seeking to respond to new market demands.
